LAVALLE - Orville L. Gibeaut, age 84, formerly of LaValle, died on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at the Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon. He was born on May 27, 1922, in Valton to Roy and Edna (Day) Gibeaut. On July 29, 1942, he was united in marriage to Angeline LaRue. They shared 47 years of marriage before her death in 1990. Orville worked for over 25 years as a long distance truck driver for Car Carriers, Inc. in Chicago. He served his country during World War II in both Europe and the United States. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle. Orville loved playing cards, trying his luck at the casino and having a cup of coffee with friends. Survivors include five children, Patricia (Donald) Brandt of Nekoosa, Michael (Carol) Gibeaut of Waunakee, David "Gus" Gibeaut of LaValle, Joan (Dennis) Mortimer of New Lisbon and Mary (Tim) Horkan of DeForest; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Chuck) Ripp, and their children, Kailyn, Riley and Morgan, Melissa (Martin) Kruger and their daughter, Chloe, Laura Brandt, Angie (Chuck) Setter, Mark Gibeaut and Michael, Julia, Alexa and Elliot Horkan; one sister, Gloria (Lyall) Loeding of Greendale; his special brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, Orville was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marlene; two infant brothers; a grandson, Matthew Horkan in 2002; and a granddaughter, Katie Brandt in 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH in LaValle with Father Lorin Bowens officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery with military rites accorded by the LaValle American Legion. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. With grateful hearts, we thank the staffs at both St. Josephs Nursing Home in Hillsboro and at Crest View for their wonderful and kind care of Orville. Dad, we know how much you have missed Mom and we find comfort knowing that you are with her once again. Rest in peace. The Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg is serving the family.
