Mrs. Julius Freund Dies at Age of 76

Mrs. Julius Freund, 76, of 2034 Rusk St. a lifelong Madison area resident, died at her home Monday (Nov. 7, 1960) after suffering a heart attack.

The former Jennie Swanton was born in Sun Prairie, a sister of Mile K. Swanton, Rt. 4 Madison, executive secretary of the Wisconsin Council of Agricultural Cooperatives. Much of her childhood was spent in Blooming Grove, and she attended the old Madison High School, now Central High school

After marrying in 1914 she and Mr. Freund farmed in the Cottage Grove-McFarland area before moving to Madison 30 years ago.

Funeral services will be help at 2 p.m. Wendesday in the Hope Lutheran Church, Rt. 1, Madison, with the Rev. Carlton E. Ruch, pastor, officiating. Friends may call after noon today at the Schroeder funeral home, 3325 E. Washington Ave. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors in addition to her husband and Mr. Swanton, include two sons, William, Stoughton; and Earl, Deerfield; two sisters, Mrs. M. P. Salter, West Bend; and Mrs. Ray Salter, Middleton; and five grandchildren.
