A. B. Bever For Clerk of Court
For the office of Clerk of Court the present incumbent, A. B. Bever, stands for re election. The history of thei young man is too well known to need repeating. He is one of Wisconsin's native sons, a man of every quality that makes a trusted and afficient official. He is a graduate of the Wausau Business Collage, and for five years was bookkeeper for the Arpin Lumber Company, relinquishing that position to fill vacancy in the office he now holds-the appointment being made by Circuit Judge Charles M. Webb. Two years ago he was elected to the office and has fullfilled every trust incumbent upon him. His faithfulness of duty and pleasing disposition has won him the esteem and admiration of all. His re-election would be a fitting tribute to a deserving official.
A. B. Bever, Clerk of Court, Marries
A. B. Bever, who succeeded himself to the office of clerk of court in the recent election, was united in marriage on Wednesday of last week at Grand Rapids, his bride being Miss Celia McCarthy, an estimable young lady of that city. The event comes as a surprise to Mr. Bever's many friends in this end of the county although it was surmised on several occasions during the campaign that he was absent minded. Well if he makes as good a husband as he does officer his fair young bride will never have reason to regret the step she has taken. The News extends congratulations.
Impressive funeral rites for the late Albert B. Bever were conducted this morning at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church, with Rt. Rev. Msger. William Reding officiating at the requiem high mass and preaching the funeral sermon.
A large attendance from all parts of Wood county at the services heard Msgr. Reding pay last tribute to the deceased as a public benefactor and a sincere Christian. Interment at Calvary cemetery followed the mass.
Circuit Judge Bvron B. Park headed the list of honorary pall-bearers, and a delegation of about 25 members of the county board attended the funeral in a body. The courthouse remained closed until after the services this morning.
Relatives attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zoelle, Elmhurst, ILL.; Henry Bever, Evanston, ILL; Miss Naomi Collins, Milwaukee; Miss Catherine Harrower, Milwaukee; Mrs. Barbara Harrower, Milwaukee; Mrs. Hugh Lenane, and son Dennis, Cleveland, O.; Mr, and Mrs. Jack Henry, Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Slattery, Ladysmith.
Mr. and Mrs. James Glennon and son, James, Stevens Point; Wilbur McCarthy and Wilbur Jr., of East Chicago, Ind; Emmett Slattery, Rudolph; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Leutke, and children, Wausau; and Tony Bever, Marshfield.
