Mrs. Mary Thomas

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Christman Thomas, 85, 812 Weston Avenue, who died in a local hospital Sunday morning at 7:45 o'clock afrer a month's illness, will be held tomorrow morning at 8:30 o'clock in the Ritter & Deutsch funeral home and at 9 o'clock in St. Theresa's Catholic Church of Schofield and Rothschild, with the Rev. Vincent Schwartz officiating. Interment will be at Wisconsin Rapids.

Born in Hartford July 9, 1864, Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Benes. She was married in 1887 at Wisconsin Rapids to Peter Christman, pioneer Wisconsin Rapids soft drink manufacturer, who died in 1909. She was married five years later at Wisconsin Rapids to Nicholas Thomas, who died in 1924. She had been a Wausau resident 25 years and was a member of St. Theresa's church alter society.

Surviving are four sons, Frank E. Christman, Milwaukee, J. M. Christman, Bogots, N. J., John Christman, Baltimore, Md., and Peter Christman, Brooklyn, N. Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Cummings, Milwaukee, and Miss Carol Christman, 812 Weston Avenue; a sister, Mrs. Lena Henderson, Milwaukee; 17 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Thomas Funeral

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Thomas, 85, 812 Weston avenue, who died Sunday, were held this morning in the Ritter & Deutsch funeral home and in St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Vincent Schwartz, pastor of St. Theresa's Catholic Chruch of Schofield and Rothschild, officiating. Following the rites, the body was taken to Wisconsin Rapids for interment. Serving as pallbearers were Peter Vnuk, Albert Krause, William La Dusire, Henry Koerten, William Prahl and George Spalg.
